This day changed everything.
Grayson's arrival has been anticipated for a while now, but he surprised everyone when he came just a wee bit early.
I got a text from Kiffen in the middle of the night / early Monday morning (September 7th) saying, "My water just broke." Of course, I didn't see it until almost 9 a.m. & immediately called when I did. I then proceeded to run through the house & shout to my husband, "WE'RE HAVING A BABY TODAY!"
I made my way to the hospital later that day & things were progressing slowly. The Doc came in & said he expected Grayson to come around 3 a.m. So, I reluctantly headed home & told Brandon to call me when things were getting close. I woke up at 3 a.m., no alarm, no phone call, no texts-- Grayson still wasn't here. It had been over 24 hours now so I, along with everyone else, was getting pretty anxious. I made my way back to sleep & woke up to a phone call at 7:50 a.m. from Brandon saying they were taking Kiffen back for delivery.
I made it from the bed to the hospital by 8:05 a.m. Yep, I was ready to see this baby.
Grayson Blayne arrived at 8:14 a.m. he weighed 7 lbs 7 ounces & measured 19.5 inches long. He was perfect.
I'll never forget the moment I saw Brandon push that little cart around the corner full of emotions & this little guy lying there looking just like this Daddy.
Witnessing my best friend become a Mother has been so rewarding. I was talking with her about how much I loved him & she said "I couldn't love any on person more in my life!" But, she didn't have to tell me that, I already knew by the look on her face when she held him in her arms.
"Time can't fade it, a thief can't take it-- all my love for you. You are the best part of me."
